Carrie Lynn Smith, 68 of Springfield, IL passed away at 12:38 am, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born March 3, 1958, in Springfield, the daughter of Billy Lee and Mary (DiPasquale) Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Rachael Smith of Springfield; four grandchildren, Thaddeus, Gabriel, Abbigayle and Sebastian Szcinski; three brothers, William A. Smith, Joseph M. (Kimberly) Smith and C. Douglas (Lisa) Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carrie enjoyed doing genealogy research, crafts and hanging out with her grandkids.
She was currently working as a secretary at the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Memorial Gathering: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 12:00 PM at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Cindy Lash officiating.
