Charlene M. Phillips, 83, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 2, 1941, in Springfield, to Charles and Eleanor (Stailey) Weidhuner.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Osban of Springfield; one son, Kevin (Laura Bridgewater) Phillips of Cary, NC; two grandchildren, JoAnna Osban and Jason Phillips; sister, Rosalee Kapshandy of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Steve Kapshandy.

Charlene worked in customer service for Sears for more than 20 years and then worked for Sam’s Club after retirement.

Visitation: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Donn Stephens officiating. A burial will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
