Clinton Hudson Trice, 82 of Springfield, formerly of California, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born October 12, 1942 in Elmira, NY, the son of Stephen and Esther (Hudson) Trice. He married Naomi Kimbro on August 3, 1968 and she preceded him in death in August 2019 after 51 years of marriage.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters, Abby Coning and Sophia Johansson, and one sister Beth Swank.

Survivors include his two daughters, Susan (Lennart) Johansson of Sun Prairie, WI and Sheri (Doug) Coning of Grove City, OH; four grandchildren, Andrew (Cheyenne) Coning, Tim Coning, Alex Johansson, and Emma Johansson; two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Oliver Coning and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Clinton has been a resident of Springfield for two years and spent most of his life in California. He retired from Aerospace at Lockheed Martin after 42 years of service.

He was a member of West Side Christian Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir. Also, his many years at City Church in Lancaster, CA. He also was a car enthusiast and amateur photography, but he will be most remembered for his quirky humor and love for life.

Clint was generous, loyal, and faithful. He never knew a stranger! He loved to travel, adventure, and finding a choir to join wherever he lived. He loved Jesus and displayed God’s character with his faithfulness and love. He will be dearly missed by all that loved him.

He lived by one of his favorite Bible verses: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.
