Daniel Lee “Danny” McAllister, 51, of Buffalo, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born on December 22, 1973 in Springfield, IL, the son of Walter Lee and Cynthia “Diane” (Hale) McAllister. He married the love of his life, Michelle M. Spann on October 31, 2014 and she survives.

He is also survived by his son, Walter McAllister; mother, Diane McAllister of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Amy McAllister of Jacksonville, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee McAllister.

Danny was a graduate of Southeast High School, class of 1992. After high school, he worked his first job with his father on the railroad and learned a great work ethic. After working with his father for a little while, he enlisted with the Army National Guard and proudly served our country. After his service, he became a talented self-employed contractor and worked many jobs throughout Central IL.

He loved playing billiards and riding motorcycles around town. Spending time with his family any chance he could was so important to him. In 2015 he developed a brain tumor that he has been battling ever since. He became the best stay at home dad for his son Walter and enjoyed every minute mentoring him and cherished those hours with him. In addition, he picked up the hobby of painting, from pieces of art to painting his truck, he just enjoyed keeping busy and discovering new talents.

Visitation: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Friday, March 28, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.

Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Friday, March 28, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Pastor Troy Easley officiating.

A burial will follow at a later date with military honors being conducted.
