Diane K. Parks, 82, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Diane was born September 19, 1942, in Long Beach, CA, to John and Bernice (Starcevich) Yerbic. She married Scott D. Parks on November 22, 1975, and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2020.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Yerbic.
She is survived by her two sons, Jason (Rachel) Parks of New Berlin, IL and Justin Parks of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jackson, Ava, Addison, and Ella Parks; one brother, James Yerbic of Kildeer, IL; one sister, Karen Malone of Cuba, IL; two sisters-in-law, Claudia Yerbic of Tempe, AZ and Bonnie (Mike) Watkins of Cuba, IL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Diane moved to Springfield in 1983 and previously lived in Canton, IL. She was an administrative assistant for SIU School of Medicine until March of 2018, when she retired. Diane was a faithful member of Calvary Church.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her great pride. She also enjoyed singing in her church choir. Diane loved traveling, especially to Croatia exploring her heritage, cooking, baking and shopping. Diane will be greatly missed by her family and friends who will always remember her joy, love, laughter and kindness.

Memorial Service: 11:30 am, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Calvary Church, 1730 W. Jefferson St., Springfield, IL 62702 with Pastor Paul Rose and Rev. Dan Bergbower officiating.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Monday, September 8, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
