Geraldine Boehm Watkins Gedman, 96, of Springfield, died at 6:13 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Em’s Haven of Rest in Havana. She was born January 24, 1926 in Collegeport, TX to Oren and Eliza Anna (Gratton) Boehm. She married Horace L. Watkins June 24, 1944 and he preceded her in death April 4, 1966. She married James Gedman January 13, 1968 and he preceded her in death March 17, 2013.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Phillips of Andrew, Pamela (Jerry) Harlow of Springfield and Connie (John) Peyton of Warsaw, IN; step-daughter, Betty Gedman (companion, John Wylie) of Weston, WV; step-son, Joe (Ligia) Gedman of Belleville, IL; son-in-law, Bernie Coleman of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Helmig of Havana and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Witherell and Eileen Keith; three brothers, Clarence, Glen and Carl Boehm; step-daughter, Helen Coleman and one grandson.

Geraldine was a member of St. Aloysius Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading cross-stich, cooking, listening to country music, watching soaps, putting together jigsaw puzzles, going to Fit Club and above all, spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was a member of Christian Women’s Club.

Visitation: 10 – 11:30 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Reverend George Nellikunnel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
