Gloria K. Spalding, 88 of Springfield, IL, passed away on November 6, 2023 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born on July 20, 1935 in Springfield, to Chester and Gladys Plummer and they preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Nate Plummer; and sisters, Shirley Poole and Alice Crowder.

She is survived by her husband, James Spalding of Springfield; daughters, Monica (husband, John Perry) of Glen Carbon, IL, and Marla Hornstein of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Jason Perry (wife, Heather) of Evansville, IN, Justin Perry (wife, Lisa) of Glen Carbon, IL, and Cassaundra Hamilton (husband, Phil) of Rockledge, FL; and her pride and joys, great-grandsons, Connor and Liam Perry and Lucas Elston.

She will be remembered for her wit and her great love for any and all animals, especially all of her cats...

As per her request, there will be no service and cremation has been accorded by Staab Funeral Home - Springfield. A private burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to the Forever Home Feline Ranch.
