James “Jim” E. Young 71, of Springfield, died on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his home. He was born March 24, 1953, in Springfield, to Harry Edward and Edna Mae (Davis) Young.

Jim is survived by his sons, Adam Young and Joe Wasilewski both of Springfield and Clint Newcomb of Michigan; two sisters, Carolyn Vinson and Sandra Welling both of Springfield; his brother, Bob (Barb) Young of Springfield and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins and Best Friend, Angela Young.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Bill Young and John "Bo" Young.

Jim retired from the Local #12 Roofers Union after 20+ years of service.

Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved NASCAR, and music. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren.

The family will host a graveside service at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Park with a Celebration of Jim’s Life to immediately follow at Duncan Park.
