Jean Ann Mansfield, 80 of Spaulding, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at her home. She was born November 19, 1943 in Clinton, IL to Preston Melvin and Wanda Lucille Burns Chapman. She married Martin J. Mansfield on July 2, 1965 and he survives.

Also surviving are three children, Crystal (David) Moser of Springfield, Cindy (Tom) Kavanagh of Chatham and Tim (Kim) Mansfield of Bloomfield Hills, MI and six grandchildren, Lexi and Allison Moser, Lindsay, Ryan and Lauren Kavanagh and Timothy Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Melvin Chapman, Sandy Shelley and Roger Chapman.

Jean was of the Methodist faith. She loved to read, especially a good romance novel. She was the shrewdest of card players, playing Hearts, Rummy, Uno, Sequence and Skyjo…always winning. She loved movies and having lunch with her grandchildren.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.

Funeral Service: 12:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Williamsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
