Jessica M. Ginter, 49, of Springfield, passed away at 8:07 pm, Friday, April 24, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1976, in Springfield, the daughter of George R. and A. Marie (Jenkins) Ginter. She married Robert L. Nation, Jr. in 2025, and he survives.

She is also survived by her mother, Marie Ginter of Rochester; brother, Doug (Lynn) Ginter of Olympia, Washington; two nephews, Logan and Dylan Ginter and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She lived her life with quiet strength, gentle compassion, and a deep devotion to the people and animals she loved.

Her relationships with those closest to her were among the greatest joys of her life, and she valued every moment spent with them.

Jessica pursued her education and earned her license as a practical nurse, a reflection of her natural desire to care for others. Her work in medical billing with the State of Illinois allowed her to contribute to an important field of service, where her dependable nature and attention to detail were deeply appreciated.

She loved dogs and felt a special connection to their loyal and gentle companionship. She also treasured time with family and friends, and she made others feel welcome and valued in her presence.

A private service will be held.

Memorial contributions may be given to Wishbone, Animal Protective League or WILD.
