John F. Pinney, 58, of Riverton died at 4:45 pm, Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1964 in Madison, WI to Robert Ivan Pinney and Suzanne Richardson.

Survivors include two sons, Caleb Pinney of Riverton and Jared (Jessica) Pinney of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Raiden, Eli, and Cameron Pinney; father, Robert (Vonna) Pinney of Loranger, LA; two brothers, Wayne (Teresa) Pinney of Gilford, IN and Bill (Jan) Pinney of Springfield and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne Eck; step-father, Eldon Eck and one niece, Emily Pinney.

John was a US Navy veteran serving from 1982-1985.

He worked for Ramada for twenty-three years and had previously worked for Phillips Brothers Printers.

John was a devoted father, grandfather, and a selfless and loyal man who was deeply rooted in faith. He loved his cats, his Cubs, and most importantly his boys.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Home: 12:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Bill Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
