Joseph W. Jarvis, 92, of Springfield, died at 5:22 pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman. He was born August 11, 1929, in Springfield, to Harry and Flossie Ealey Jarvis. He married Rachel File on July 27, 1955 and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2000.
Survivors include one son, David Jarvis of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jarvis of Springfield; granddaughter, Cassie Jarvis of Fort Mohave, AZ and great-granddaughter, Nichole Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son, Thomas Jarvis.
Joseph was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Fiat Allis after more than 30 years of service and was an avid Chicago CUBS fan.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Friday, December 17, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted.
