Joyce Lee McIntosh, 82 of Springfield, passed away peacefully at 1:42 am, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1941 in Springfield, the daughter of George L. and Hilda L. (Woodruff) Watson II.

She is survived by her four children, Leanne (Tim) Roseberry of Springfield, Lisa Lee of Georgia, Kimberly McIntosh of Springfield and Jack McIntosh of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Christopher, Tony, Bryana, James, Justin, Julian, Jalohn, Jerica, and Tigris; five great grandchildren, Bryson, Devonte, Michelle, Zara, and Ezra; one niece, Karen Watson and two nephews, Kevin Watson and Maceo Washington.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynn Lee; son, Leslie Lee; three siblings, George L. Watson III, Charmaine Watson, and Charlotte Watson and one nephew, Michael Watson.

Joyce was a life long resident of Springfield and attended Lanphier High School. She retired from the State of Illinois, Department of Health and Human Services.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching BBC TV, court shows, and true crime. Her biggest passion of all was spending time with her family.

Visitation: 9:30 am – 11:00 am, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Graveside Service: 11:30 am, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
