Kenneth W. Brickler, 96, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born May 1, 1928, in Williamsville, the son of Wilfred and Frances (Cox) Brickler. He married Violet Westfall on June 3, 1949, and she preceded him death on February 16, 2019.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Dana) Downs of Kirkwood, MO and Gaile (Jim) Bee of Springfield; one son, Roger K. (Charlotte) Brickler of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Deanna (Ryan) Wendler Modde, Bill (Rosie Fore) Benedict, Dana Marie (Matt) Scheidt, Valisha (Matt) Zimmer, Adam (Jessica) Brickler, Ashley (Kraig) Kennedy, Timothy Bee, and Jonathan Bee; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenneth was a member of South Side Christian Church. He worked for Sangamo Electric for twenty-three years and for Brickler Farm Services for seven years. He retired from Springfield School District 186 as Head Custodian in Maintenance after more than thirteen years of service. Kenneth served as a Cub Scout Master and was a member of Springfield Auxiliary Police.

Visitation: 4:30 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Prostate Cancer Research.
