Kevin G. Laurent 62, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 peacefully at his home. He was born April 7, 1961 in Springfield, to Robert George and Shirley Mae (Hughes) Laurent.

Kevin graduated from Lanphier High School in 1979. He enjoyed his career as a patient transporter at St. John’s Hospital and retired after twenty-nine years of service.

He enjoyed music, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a sports fan with his favorite teams being the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley M. Laurent of Cantrall; one brother, Robert E. (Jackie) Laurent of Cantrall; one nephew, Phillip (Brittany) Laurent of Rochester; one niece, Christine (Philip) Scharf of Spring Hill, KS; three great nephews, Gavin and Weston Laurent and Elijah Scharf and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Todd E. Laurent.

Visitation: 10 - 11 am, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
