Lois A. Spivey, 84, of Petersburg, died at 9:15 am, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1940 to Glenn and Hermine Janssen Thomson. She married Joseph S. Spivey in 1967 and he preceded her in death December 19, 2021.
She is survived by one daughter, Rachel (Michael) Lombardo of Wildwood, MO; one son, Joseph G. (fiancé Dana) Spivey of Greenview, IL; two grandchildren, Joseph K. Spivey and Samantha Lombardo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Lois taught school in Greenview and Petersburg for 25 years. She also worked for Central Intelligence Agency. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was of the Lutheran Faith.
Memorial Gathering: 5-7 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield.
Memorial Service: A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Menard Animal Protection or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
