Lowell E. Gresham, 83, of Springfield, died at 4:18 pm, Monday, May 6, 2024 at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 27, 1941 in Springfield, IL, the son of Joseph W. and Frances (Everitt) Gresham. He married the love of his life Patricia Ann Ducey on April 18, 1964 and they shared many wonderful years together before she passed away on July 15, 2008.

He is survived by a daughter, Michele (Jay) Stewart of Sherman; son, Eddie (Kimberly) Gresham of Prosper, TX; three grandchildren, Kori (Phillip) Camper of St. Louis, Sami (Zach) Bourland of Springfield and Emma Whitener of Prosper, TX; sister-in-law, Lynda Bressan of Springfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Ducey of Carefree, Arizona; niece, Kathy Gresham and his beloved cat, Wrigley.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Sam and Joe Gresham.

Lowell retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved the outdoors and enjoyed puzzles and word games. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church and St. John Vianney Church.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, May 13, 2024 at Calvary Cemetery with Reverend Fredrick Chima Mbiere officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Aloysius Church.
