Lula Mae Klespitz, 91, of Springfield, died at 1:20 pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born May 9, 1932 in Springfield, the daughter of Emmitt and Grace (Painter) Hewitt. She married Albert L. Klespitz November 22, 1952 and he preceded her in death January 27, 2014.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda Hewitt; one brother, Emmitt Hewitt, Jr. and a grandson, Andy Wicks.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Wicks (Gene Harter) of Kincaid; a son, Tony (Nancy) Klespitz of New Berlin; five grandchildren, Amy Fromme of Franklin, T.J. Klespitz of New Berlin, Brian (Jennifer) Wicks of Rock Island, Katie (J.T.) Wyzard of Taylorville and Becca (A.J.) Coontz of Pawnee; ten great grandchildren, Tyler Ferguson, Hallie Ferguson, Aidan Fromme, Ian Mullins, Melanie Brigman, Annalise Wicks, Tatum Wyzard, Meacham Wyzard, Allie and Maci Coontz; two brothers, Harry Hewitt of Springfield and Pat Hewitt of Edinburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lula was a member of Southern View Chapel. She enjoyed baking and going to garage sales and the casino. She was a homemaker most of her life. Early in life she worked at Bunn O Matic and also cleaned homes.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Gary Gilley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
