It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lyle H. Flach, aged 78, on March 9, 2024, with his family by his side. Born on March 17, 1945, Lyle was born to a successful farm family in Warrensburg, IL. He was the fifth of five children of Herman Rudolph and Opal (Harbarger) Flach. He married Kathy Jo Eyre on December 23, 1996 and she survives.

Lyle is also survived by four daughters, Kathleen (Boe) Flach Quisenberry of Springfield, MO, Melinda “Susan” (AJ) Bayless of Chillicothe, OH, Ashley (Steven) Dennis of Sherman, IL, and Elizabeth (Benjamin) Burkard of Hillsboro, OH; thirteen grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Wood, Jacob Wood, Justin Wood, Melina Bayless, Noah Hauke, Landan Hauke, Logan Hauke, Danielle Dennis, Ryan Dennis, Brielle Dennis, Cameron Burkard, Braydon Burkard, Ashton Burkard; four great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Autumn, Aspen, Adaline; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger and Jim Flach; and two sisters, Norma Bell and Anna Butcher.

Lyle was baptized a Christian and had a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a long-time, active member of Calvary Church.

Lyle will be remembered for his extensive contributions in the cattle industry including his work as an auctioneer, love for horse racing, passion for Illini basketball, and devotion to his family. Those wishing to honor his memory may wear a cowboy hat to the funeral service. Lyle was loved by all who knew him and will forever remain in our hearts.

Visitation: 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Calvary Church – Hazel Dell.

Funeral Service: 6:00 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Calvary Church - Hazel Dell with Pastor Paul Rose officiating.

Burial will take place at Mowrystown Cemetery in Mowrystown, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church Missions.
