Marguerite J. Dixon, 100 of Canton, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 3:10 am, Thursday, May 17, 2024 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born June 10, 1923 in Chandlerville, the daughter of Wilmot and Nancy (Lane) Anderson. She married John A. Dixon on April 16, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2001.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Prescilla Corr and Mary Kern and one brother, Louie Anderson.

Survivors include her two sisters, Lula Anderson and Wilma Duckwiler both of Canton; one brother, Enoch (Judy) Anderson of Paris and several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was a resident of Springfield for most of her life and retired from Griffitts Construction as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Historical Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sangamon County Association for Home and Community Education, Lincoln Land Chapter of the American Sewing Guild, and enjoyed bowling on several bowling Leagues at King Pin.

Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Friday, May 24, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, May 24, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Food Pantry or CIAA Fulton County Nutrition.
