Marilyn Earleywine, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born September 22, 1941, in Springfield, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy (Lomprez) James. She married Danny Earleywine on October 10, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2018.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Sandra K. and brother, Bill (Judi) James.

Survivors include her four children: Brian Earleywine of Springfield, David (Debby) Earleywine of Reno, NV, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Earlywine of Chillicothe, and Debbie Earleywine of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jesse Swartz of Springfield and Cassidy Earleywine of Chillicothe; brother, Edward (Dawn) James of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

With a life filled with love, laughter, and creativity, Marilyn left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. A brilliant wordsmith, she tackled crosswords with ease. In the kitchen, she was a master chef, conjuring up culinary delights that warmed both hearts and bellies. Her dexterous fingers were also proficient at knitting and needlework, creating cozy treasures for loved ones. Music was her muse, and she reveled in its beauty, loving just about every genre. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she delighted in the thrill of watching scary movies with her daughter, Deb. At home, her feline family – Pixel, Bella, Sage, and Little Fella – brought her endless joy. As a homemaker, Marilyn poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth that will be cherished forever.

Cremation has been arranged by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
