Mark Phillip Gleason, 43, of Springfield, died on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 1, 1980, in Springfield, to Mark Bryce Gleason and Toni Rae Wiard Gleason of Chatham.

He is survived by his mother, Toni R. (Floyd) Sellers of Petersburg; father, Mark Bryce (Holli) Gleason of Pawnee; sister, Monica Raines of Springfield; three stepsisters, Kaytlin Smith of Springfield, Ashli Smith of Pawnee and Dawn (Josh) Kerska of Chatham; two stepbrothers, Jeremy (Jeni) Sellers of Sherman and Cody (Amber) Sellers of Williamsville; grandparents, Dorthy Shaw of Riverton and Shirley Ravensburg of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bryce, and Eileen Gleason of Chatham and Phil Wiard of Florida; and two aunts, Tracy Compston of Springfield and Joni Leckrone of Springfield

Mark Phillip Gleason, known by many people as “Little Mark,” had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious smile, and a heart of gold. He never knew a stranger. He was a great friend, wonderful son, brother, and grandson. He loved playing football at Chatham Glenwood JFL, and he was immensely proud of the number on his jersey (80). He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears.

He loved going on canoe trips and cliff jumping throughout his childhood. Mark and his good friend, Trent Karhliker, had many adventures as children with their favorite being when they were able to take an airplane ride around Springfield. He loved going on motorcycle rides with his father. He also enjoyed playing Bingo with his mother and grandmother. Mark was deeply passionate about his cat, Huckleberry.

 A private family service will be held.
