Mary Lou Long, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Lewis Memorial. She was born February 2, 1929, in Anthony, KS, the daughter of Grover Addison and Ina Violet (Jones) Lichlyter. She married James Benjamin Long Sr. on September 10, 1948.
She is survived by her daughters; Karen (Jerry) Vaught of Springfield, Venita (Larry, deceased) Lyons of Springfield, Shearl (Mike, deceased) Lohrenz of Springfield, and Teri (Bill) of Tucson, AZ; her sons James (Marsha) Long Jr. of Springfield, and Kelvin Long of Athens; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Pamela Jo Delaney, and brother, Japeth “Bud” Lichlyter.
Mary Lou was a homemaker who loved crossword puzzles and being with her cats. She enjoyed collecting Barbie's as well. Mary Lou was a woman of faith who loved her family.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral: 10:00 am Monday, June 24, 2024, at Staab Funeral Home - Springfield with Pastor Charlie Carver Jr. officiating.
