Mary Lou Senalik, 85, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. Mary Lou was born May 7, 1939, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Walter C. and Harriett (Wheeler) Ertel. She married John Joseph Senalik on June 28, 1988, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2025.

Mary Lou is survived by her two sons, Michael (Brandi) Davis of Nashville, TN and Larry (Janice) Davis of St. Charles, MO; two stepsons, Larry (Diane) Senalik of Pleasant Plains and Douglas (Mary Palmer) Senalik of Madison, WI; seven grandchildren: Kara (Ryan) Merryman, Michael (Whitney) Davis, Jake Davis, Sydni (Jordan) Farhat, Christopher Adam (Greg Abbott) Senalik, Brooke (Timothy) Sullivan, Matthew Senalik; five great-grandchildren: Braelyn, Isaiah, Sloan, Mackenzie and Jackson; sister, Janet (Floyd) Terstegge of Quincy, IL; sisters-in-law, Betty Ertel of Quincy, Donna (Don) Davis of Springfield, and Barb Senalik of Springfield.

Also preceding her in death are her parents and Richard Davis (father of her sons); sisters, Norma Jean (James) Groce and Carolyn Caine; brothers, Richard and Wally Ertel.

Mary Lou was a beautician, homemaker and sales associate at Bergner’s.

Mary Lou enjoyed playing cards and volunteering at her church, where she was a faithful and dedicated member. Mary Lou also loved spending time with her family and friends.

The family will host a gathering from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed by a service and luncheon on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington Street, Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
