Maureen Rose Brady, 76, of Springfield, IL passed away on March 14th, 2024 at home, surrounded by her children. She leaves behind a legacy of passion and the belief in love for all.

A loving mother and grandmother, was born September 1, 1947 in Chicago, IL. On May 2nd, 1970 she married Thomas Brady, who passed away in 2018. Also preceding her in death are parents David and Margaret (Murphy) Haas and her two brothers, David and Robert.

Survivors include three children, Robert Brady (Brent) of Chicago, Colleen (Thomas) Dunham of Springfield and James Brady (Carrie) of Pleasant Plains; six grandchildren, Charlie, McKinley, Ella, and Maggie Dunham and Fisk and Dempsey Brady, as well as two sisters, Patricia Thompson of Rock Hill, SC, Margaret Krueger of Genoa, IL and several niece and nephews.

Maureen gave her time to raising her children. Later in life, as a CNA, she worked at Sacred Heart Convent for 13 years. She was a member of St. Agnes Parish, and was active with the prayer line for 25 years, along with other charities. She cherished her grandchildren. She brought so much joy, happiness and laughter to everyone around her, and will be deeply missed; we’ll forever keep her spirit in our hearts.

Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Thursday, March 21st, 2024 at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Christopher Trummer officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Institute for Cancer Research.
