Michael E. Boyer, 76, of Riverton, died at his home on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was born November 29, 1947 in Quincy, IL, the son of Elmo and Vera Violet (Mason) Boyer.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Kent (Brenda) Boyer of Wichita, KS and three nieces, Amber Boyer, Tammy Hiles and Tina Lentz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael lived in Riverton since 2002 and was formerly of Springfield.

He was a member of Cherry Hills Church. Michael was an avid University of Tennessee fan and Cubs fan. He was a member of the certified Illinois Appraising Officers, President of Sertoma Golf Club, Former President of Ward 1 Club, Former Precinct Committeeman for Ward #83. Former board member of the Illinois Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. 

He retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue. He worked part time at Lincoln Greens and was active in the Springfield Jaycees.

Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Cherry Hills Church.

Funeral Service: 11 am Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Cherry Hills Church with Pastor Chad Reeser officiating.

Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Hills Church.
