Nancy Lee Borah, 77, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Country Lane Memory Care. She was born September 28, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of James and Nila Grace (Johnson) Bales and they preceded her in death. She married James “Jim” E. Borah on February 28, 1998 and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert “Bobby” (Angela) Kerske, Jr. and Joseph “Joe” Kerske, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; four brothers, Don, Tony, Tom, and Bill Callaway; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy was a resident of Norborne, MO before moving to Springfield. She graduated from Lanphier High School in 1964. She worked at various banks around Springfield and later at the Illinois Department of Revenue where she retired. Nancy was a longtime member of Real Life Church. Her family was her life, though her dogs were a close second.

Cremation has been accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. A burial will be held at Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to the Animal Protective League.
