Orville E. Stringfield, 91 of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Alive Hospice Center in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born June 15, 1932 in Springfield, IL, the son of Orville V. and Helen Stringfield. He married Maureen Eynon on December 20, 1953 and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2018.

Also preceding him death are his parents, two nephews and a niece.

Survivors include one son, Robert (Pam) Stringfield of Murfreesboro, TN; one grandson, Bryan (Chelsea) Stringfield of Fairview, TN; one great grandson, Henry Arthur Stringfield; one sister, Joanne Quinn of Pittsfield, IL, and one niece and nephew.

Orville was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1952-1956. He retired after 29 years of service from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier.

He was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Shriners, and St. Paul’s Masonic Lodge, 500 AF&AM. He enjoyed keeping up with his friends and family via facebook, playing games on the computer, and taking photographs. His pride and joy were his grandson, Bryan and his 14 month old great grandson, Henry.

He also enjoyed spending time with his dearest pet, Molly, who gave him great comfort after the passing of his wife.

Visitation: 2-4 pm, Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, February 5, 2024 at Third Presbyterian Church with Pastor Steven Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be mad to Third Presbyterian Church.
