Patricia Ann Shafer passed away on January 30, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois to Herman and Rose Virginia (Beerup) Kuntzmann. She married Robert Shafer in 1953, spending 40 wonderful years together before he passed. They enjoyed many winters walking the beaches in Florida, after Bob retired from CWLP. They were blessed with four children, William Shafer (Patty), Thomas Shafer (Kay), John Shafer (Cathy Schwartz) and Lisa Kidd (Lance). Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Herman Kuntzmann & Gail Swisher; and a beloved granddaughter, Emma Shafer. Surviving are her four children; sister, Dorothy Babiak; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren that brought her so much joy in her later years.

Pat was loved by everyone that knew her. She cherished her family and also enjoyed a glass of wine with friends. She loved her church family at Westminster Presbyterian, serving as an elder and volunteering wherever needed. Pat served on the board of the Illinois Presbyterian Home and was a member of Questers and Kings Daughters, Grateful Daughters Circle.

The Shafer family would like to thank the friends and staff of Mill Creek Care Center for their wonderful care and attention.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
