Penny L. Lorenzini 72, of Springfield, died at 7:05 am, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her home, after a long battle against T Cell Lymphoma. She was born March 12, 1951 in Springfield, to Richard D. and Dorothy M. (Ehlert) Lorenzini.
Ms. Lorenzini received her master’s in business administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield and was employed by SIU School of Medicine before retiring in 2009.
She served on Memorial Medical Center’s Foundation Festival of Trees committee for many years, as well as Memorial Medical Center’s Friends of Memorial Board of Directors and several other committees throughout the community.
Survivors include her sister, Linda Lorenzini, as well as one uncle and many cousins throughout the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Private graveside services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation or to the Animal Protective League of Springfield.
