Ramona J. Goldstein, 94, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at her home. She was born on June 24, 1929 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of F.W. Buecker, Jr. and Adda B. (Bradley) Buecker. She married William J. Goldstein, Sr. on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William J. Goldstein, Jr.; sister, Mable Staley; three brothers, H.W. “Dick” Buecker, Dale (Betty) Buecker and Norman (LaDean) Buecker.

Ramona is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn D. (Kevin) Delaney of Germantown, TN, and Sally Ann Peterson of Ft. Worth, TX; two sons, Stephen M. (Melany) Goldstein of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Thomas E. (Jennifer) Goldstein of Springfield; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debra Goldstein; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ramona lived in Mechanicsburg for many years and was a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for St. John’s Hospital and Sangamon County Public Health.

Visitation: 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 6:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Rev. George Nellikunnel officiating.

Graveside Service: 9:00 am, Monday, February 19, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
