Richard “Dick” James Freitag, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 13, 1943, in Springfield, the son of John and Mildred (Winchester) Freitag. He married Beverly Jean Ealey on June 9, 1972 and she survives.

Also surviving are his son, Aaron (Sara) Freitag of Lincoln; daughter, Dawn Moushon; four grandchildren, Riley and Cooper Freitag and Bobby and Courtney Williams; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Dick was of the Catholic faith. He was a United States Army veteran. He owned and operated A and R Repair. He enjoyed restoring cars and tractors and being outdoors, whether it was golfing or fishing. One of Dick’s greatest joys was spending time with his son, Aaron, and grandchildren, Riley and Cooper.

Private family services were held.
