Rita Rose Williams 89, of Edinburg, formerly of Springfield, went to be with the Lord at 12:56 am, Thursday, January 8, 2026, at The Carriages of Rochester, in Rochester, IL. She was born September 24, 1936, in Springfield, the daughter of Ferdinand and Oleda (Cucchi) Dentino. She married John Williams on December 3, 1952, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2024.

 Survivors include three sons, John A. (Lia) Williams of Ladera Ranch, CA, Daniel L. Williams of Springfield and Douglas J. (Jill) Williams of Edinburg; two grandchildren, Jace A. Williams and Emily Rose (Bo) Buschon; one great grandchild, Scarlett Ray Buschon; three sisters, Carmella Hollinshead of Springfield, Marian Dentino and Deborah (Thomas) Looby both of Algonquin, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Dentino and two infant daughters.

 Rita worked in retail sales and retired in 1999, after fifteen years of service, from J.C. Penney as a Merchandising Assistant.

 Visitation: 9:30 – 11:30 am Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home - Springfield with Reverend John Burnette officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Taylorville.
