Robert Williams, 64, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born on June 30, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Everett Edward and Elizabeth Ann (Hughes) Williams

He was preceded in death by his parents and significant other, Sharon Owens.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Amy (Derrick) Hart of Berryton, KS; three grandsons, Elliott, Noah and Liam; seven siblings, Mary Catherine Williams of Ft. Dodge, IA, Jim (Martha) Williams of Springfield, IL, Shirley (Tom) Barnes of Dayton, TN, Connie Graber of Springfield, IL, Patricia McElroy of Williamsville, IL, Steve Williams of Chestnut, IL, Roberta (Dale) Runyon of Broadwell, IL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was an avid fisherman, enjoying fishing trips with Sharon, his family and buddies to Mark Twain Lake, Mississippi and even excursions to Canada. He also loved hunting white tail deer, and really anything that approached his property.

 He was a maintenance supervisor for Walmart – N. Dirksen for over twenty years.

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
