Rosalie May Holmes, 84, of Springfield, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, April 11, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 27, 1940, in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of LeRoy and Melba R. (Hoops) Owings.

She is survived by her eldest daughter, April (Stephen) Lindsey of Springfield and youngest daughter, Heather Killen of Springfield; five grandchildren, Lydia (Nathan) Wagner, Kylie Killen, Lucas Killen, Bobbi Jo (Joyce) Maloney, and Michael Lindsey; great-grandson, Joseph Cater and Baby Wagner on the way; sisters, Brenda Cordier of Springfield, Sharon Fairclough of Springfield, and Deborah (Greg) Brown of O’Fallon, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gloria Snow, Patsy Diles, Shirley Owings; brothers, William and Michael Owings.

Rosalie worked for Dr.’s Paul and Frank Siebert of Siebert’s Podiatry from 1958-1980, she then worked for Springfield Radiology from 1980-2005, and H&R Block from 1987-2012 before retiring.

Rosalie was the treasurer, secretary, vice president, and president of National Podiatric Assistance Society. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and holiday candy making, as well as baking her bountiful pies. She loved everything Elvis, and most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral: There will be an additional visitation from 9:30 am until time of services at 10:30 am, Friday, April 18, 2025, at Living Water Church, 2901 E. Sangamon Avenue, Springfield, IL 62702, with Pastor Dan Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
