Rylee Denae Britton, age 18, of Springfield,IL, passed away unimaginably on April 28, 2025 in Chatham, IL. Born November 8, 2006, in Springfield, IL, she was the beloved daughter of Zachery and Christine (Best) Britton, a cherished sister to Rachel and Eli Britton, and the adored girlfriend of Drew Moffit.

Rylee attended Glenwood High School in Chatham, where her passion for English and Education shone brightly. She aspired to further her education at the University of Iowa, dreaming of shaping young minds in the future. As an active member of her community, Rylee was currently employed at YNOT Outdoors After School Camp and previously worked at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, Express Personnel Services, and the YMCA. She also devoted her time as a student intern at Chatham Elementary School, showcasing her commitment to learning and aiding others.

Her zest for life extended to various interests and talents. In her high school years, Rylee played soccer and swam with dedication and spirit. Her early years were marked by her time on the GSA Strikers soccer team, where she developed her team spirit and athleticism. The stage also called to Rylee, where she performed in productions at both the Hoogland Center for the Arts and Theatre in the Park. Her love for music was evident as she sang in the Christmas Eve Service at Cherry Hills Church, where she was a beloved member.

Rylee's courage was as notable as her kind-heartedness. She faced every challenge with a brave smile, inspiring those around her. Her infectious positivity and warmth touched everyone she met, leaving a mark forever on her friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A beacon of light to her family, Rylee is survived by her adoring parents, Zachery and Christine; her loving siblings, Rachel and Eli; her devoted boyfriend, Drew Moffit; her grandparents, Lee and Karen Best and Jim and Carole Britton; great-grandparents, Stanley Fritz and Mardell Best; her uncles and aunts, JT (Amy) Britton, Josh (Lara) Britton, Heather (Mitch) Jones; and her cherished cousins, Alicia, Thomas, Jackson, Julia, Noah, Isaac Britton, and Jacob, Trenton, and Camden Sawyer.

Rylee's presence will be profoundly missed, and her light will continue to shine in the memories of those who loved her. Her legacy is one of kindness, determination, and the pure joy she brought into every room. Her life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and the courage to pursue her passions without reserve.

As we say goodbye to Rylee Denae Britton, we celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and the lessons of love and courage she leaves behind. Her memory will be cherished and honored by all who were blessed to know her. Rylee's story, though brief, was one of profound impact, and her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives she touched.

Visitation: 3:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, May 5, 2025 at Cherry Hills Church. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Cherry Hills Church.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Cherry Hills Church with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.
