Sharline M. Antonacci, 88, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles and Stella (Zapel) McGillis, and they preceded her death.

She is also preceded in death by her son, David Christopher Antonacci; and two sisters, Geraldine Brady and Susan Patkus.

She is survived by four children, Diana (Dyk Luben) Antonacci of Washington, NC, Scott Antonacci, Kayla Antonacci, and Paula Antonacci, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharline was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She had a long career as an accountant with the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis and was with them for 37 years. She also worked part-time at Famous Barr for 15 years, where she was honored for her outstanding service.

She was a devout Catholic and was very active in the Blessed Sacrament Parish.

The Antonacci family would like to thank the care teams of HSHS St. John’s Hospice and Home Instead.

Memorial Gathering: 10:30 – 11:30 am, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Memorial Mass: 11:30 am, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Friedel officiating. A burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School or to Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach.
