Stella M. Staab, 89 of Springfield, died at 6:02 am, Friday, October 13, 2023 at Taylorville Skilled Nursing Home in Taylorville. She was born August 29, 1934 in Springfield, to Tito and Julia (Fulgenzi) Ciccone. She married Richard P. “Dick” Staab on April 30, 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2009.

Survivors include her four children, Richard G. Staab of Springfield, Christina M. Staab of Springfield, Karl G. (Mary) Staab of Edinburg and Susan M. Staab of Springfield; three grandchildren, Tyler (Christine) Staab of Springfield, IL, Tony (Carson) Staab of Decatur, IL and Travis (Keelin) Staab of St. Louis, MO; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn Staab and Isabelle Staab of Springfield, IL; one sister-in-law, Amelia Ciccone of Springfield; one niece, Juli Ciccone of Springfield, IL; two nephews, John Ciccone of Springfield and Jim (Alisa) Ciccone of Chicago; two great nieces, Sophia and Juliana of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Dominic, Bob, John (Joanne) and Jim Ciccone and one infant sister, Anna Ciccone.

Stella was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and spending time with family.

Graveside Service: 11:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
