Teresa Gregoire, of Springfield, IL, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 72.
Teresa was born on August 17, 1953, in Springfield, IL. She was the beloved daughter of Julius, a master carpenter and Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and Josephine Sneckus, a Slovenian seamstress whose warmth and love filled everyone she met. From her parents, Teresa inherited both strength and compassion, qualities that defined her throughout her life.
A 1971 graduate of Lanphier High School, Teresa continued her undergraduate education at Eastern Illinois University, where she proudly represented her Tri-Sig Sorority as Queen for Homecoming court. Later, amidst her responsibilities as a mother and wife, she dedicated herself to earning her Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield, a testament to her determination and commitment to personal growth.
Teresa began work as a passionate art teacher at Ursuline Academy where she nurtured creativity, confidence, and self-expression; qualities that would leave a lasting impression on her students to this day. She soon found the profession which would come to define the remainder of her career, developing and implementing the Quality Management System at Crawford Murphy & Tilly Engineering Firm, of Springfield, IL. She was very proud of the relationships she built and projects she contributed to. It was from there, after 30 years of dedicated work, that she would retire in 2023.
Teresa shared over 50 loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Ron. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and adventure. The proud and loving mother of her two boys, Ryan (Mackenzie) and Nathaniel (Jacqueline), and, in recent years, becoming the cherished “Gammy T-Rex” to her four grandsons: Brooks, Beckham, Caden, and Ellis; They were the light of her life.
An avid lover of all animals, Teresa would also find life’s beauty in the spring blooms of her flower garden, the warm rays of sunshine on her face, and the ocean’s sand between her toes.
She was loved and will be remembered by so many for her warm spirit, energizing personality, and the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she met.
