Thomas “Tommy” P. Schweska, 66 of Illiopolis, passed away at 11:36 am, Friday, March 28, 2025, at his home. He was born March 20, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Joseph E. and Mary K. (McGee) Schweska. He married Linda L. Loyd on May 25, 1985, and she survives.

Also surviving are his two sons, Patrick (Tricia) Schweska of Chicago and Cully (Andrea) Schweska of Monticello; four grandchildren, Halcyon, Aivynn, Aiden and Cully Finnick Schweska; six sisters, Marilyn (Dave) Campbell of Rockford, Barb (Stan) Hardwick of Milwaukee, WI, Libby (Dan) Fuchs of Kansas City, MO, Kate (Bob) Trost of Carrollton, Sally (Randall) Rabbit of Del Ray, FL, and Debbie (John) Ehemann of Greenville, WI; three brothers, Joe (Gloria) Schweska of Springfield, Mark (Lynn) Schweska of Sparta, TN, and Danny (Lisa) Schweska of Springfield and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Colleen Schweska.

Tommy retired from the State of Illinois as a building manager after 45 years of service.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Knights of Columbus. He was also in the Fishing Hall of Fame in Minnesota. Tommy was an avid Chicago CUBS fan and adored his family with all his heart.

Visitation: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Mass: 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church with Reverend James Isaacson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Illiopolis.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
