William “Bill” P. Hoehn, 93, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Bill was born on April 8, 1932, in Pana, IL, to Pearl Joseph and Elizabeth (Kramer) Hoehn. He married the love of his life, Nancy Wich, on May 5, 1956, and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2018.
Also preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Robert, Charles, James, and Marion Hoehn; infant sister, Cecelia C. Hoehn; infant brother, Kenneth D. Hoehn; sisters, Margaret Bortolazzo and Norma Rhodes; and son in law, Casey Costello.
He is survived by his daughters, Gayla Costello of Collinsville, IL, Datina (David) Suhr of O’Fallon, MO, and Kamala (Paul) Marxsen of Carrabelle, FL; four granddaughters, Krystal (Tim) Masterson, Melaina (Leo) Smith, Stephanie Marxsen, and Samantha Marxsen; two great-grandchildren, Fiona Isabelle Smith and Luca Noah Smith; and sister, Cecelia Kolkhorst of Daytona Beach, FL.
Bill graduated from Tri-City High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He served many different roles including working at Illinois Bell from 1959-1995 and at Allis -Chalmers for nine years. He also was the Deputy Sheriff in Buffalo.
Bill was a devout Christian that always made time for family. He enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and fishing. He also loved being a part of dinner clubs. He loved travelling, especially to Florida with his family. Wherever Bill was, he made new friends. Bill will be deeply missed.
Visitation: 11 am – 12 pm, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12 pm, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
